The American University in Washington, D.C.

My first job was with C-SPAN, then CNN followed by Biz-Net, shooting and editing news and public interest programs. A few years later, I became a Producer for The Washington Redskins and then The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. I also produced and directed over 100 corporate videos.

Mary Graydon Center was the home of the Communications Department at A.U. and I spent a lot of time in this building.

C-SPAN Master Control

I gained a great deal of practical experience working in master control at C-SPAN.

1979, the year cameras were first installed in the Senate's Chambers.

CNN, my second job in D.C.

Another Image Management project, this thirty second spot was shot on 35mm film at the Wellington Hotel’s premier restaurant.

MEDIAPLEX at LAFAYETTE CENTER

Mediaplex was a venture I initiated with Jim Farr, the Developer of Lafayette Center's office buildings. Our goal was to bring world-class production technology to Lafayette Center. It’s a great story.

I directed and produced 51 episodes of Redskins Saturday Night. It was a tremendous thrill. I couldn't have done it without Dave Kaplan and Harlan Green, my two incredible friends and associates.

I moved to New York to pursue new opportunities in production. My technical expertise helped me secure a job building studios and post-production suites, a fantastic sales opportunity I truly enjoyed. Within a few years, I could buy my own apartment. That was when I chose sales and business development as my career, and I’ve never looked back.

BCS was officially, the first independent professional video reseller to sell Avid Media Composer systems. We established a new identity for this effort so customers would understand that difference between our traditional resale model and our new division devoted to digital desktop products.

Avid placed some very high profile advertisements in the trades after we signed on to become a dealer for their entire line of products.

NAB Booth Diagram and some of our Look-Alikes

NAB was a gig deal at BCS. The National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas had the power to drive sales for an entire year and our presence was vital to the success of the company. I proposed the idea of having celebrity Look-Alikes in our booth to draw attention to our booth as customers passed by our booth and hopefully get their attention. It worked like a charm. In addition to Cher, we had a David Letterman, and Elizabeth Taylor Look-Alike as well.

NAB SET-UP Meeting

The first day of the NAB show is set-up, all hands on deck. We construct the booth from the designn i made with owner Lou Claude.

Lou Claude and I put our booth together and at this NAB, we used bunch of Look-Alike actors. it was a laugh riot and we got a lot of attentions from passers by.

Before the show, I interviewed over 50 celebrity Look-Alikes for the three day gig in Las Vegas.

BCS would often buy out all of the inventory from a facility that was shutting down or upgrading. This image depicts a row of Sony one-Inch video machines used for AB-Roll editing with an editing controller like CMX.
