my first project with the Kennedy Center was a program called a very special arts story. My experience with Jean Kennedy Smith, founder of vsa, was amazing. She the youngest sister of former President John F. Kennedy, and a tireless campaigner during his run for the presidency. Jean was smart, funny and exceptionally beautiful.

Jean, believed her family’s mission was to spread hope, inspiration and care to as many people as possible. I personally know this to be true.

SHE served as U.S. Ambassador to Ireland under the Clinton administration. In 2011, President Barack Obama awarded The Presidential Medal of Freedom for her work with VSA and people with disabilities.

A Very Special Arts Story tells the story of the organization through the eyes of a few exceptional artists who have seemingly transcended their impairments and are now producing outstanding works of art despite the challenges in their lives. Jean Kennedy Smith, along with parents, children, teachers, and celebrities, weaves the program’s narrative through interviews and performances. Segment continuity is provided by Cliff Robertson, chosen to host the show. At that time, Cliff was the signature voice of AT&T and one of the most familiar voices in the U.S.A. I did two studio shoots with Cliff in Washington and some added voice-over recordings in LA.
